Starting September 2020, the Department of Cognitive Neuropsychology offers an English-taught Master’s program in Cognitive Neuropsychology, covering a variety of significant topics in the field of neuropsychology, such as developmental neuropsychology, neuropsychology of aging, neuropsychological assessment and interventions.

Job description

  • Teaching courses (in English) in the neuropsychology at the Master level, specifically Assessment for Cognitive Neuropsychology, and Interventions for Cognitive Neuropsychology;
  • Supervising individual student projects at the Master level;
  • Coordination of internships

Requirements

  • Background in neuropsychology;
  • Experience and affinity with teaching in the area of Neurosciences;
  • Clinical experience and affinity with (neuro)psychological assessment and interventions
  • Passionate lecturer
  • The ideal candidate has preferably a PhD degree in Psychology, (bio)medical sciences, or related areas;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Team player
  • Preferably a University Teaching Qualification.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year with possible extension.

The appointment starts off with a 12 month contract and will be extended for 12 months under the condition of a good first year evaluation. Depending on the candidates’ qualifications and experience, the full-time salary for the position of a lecturer 3 or 4 on a full-time basis ranges between € 2.709 and € 4.978 gross per month, based on scale 10 or 11 of the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) Dutch Universities. Researchers from outside the Netherlands may qualify for a tax-free allowance equal to 30% of their taxable salary. The university will apply for such an allowance on their behalf. The university offers very good fringe benefits, such as an options model for terms and conditions of employment and excellent reimbursement of moving expenses.

The Department of Cognitive Neuropsychology of Tilburg University consists of a vibrant mix of people interested in cognitive and clinical neuropsychology. The Department of Cognitive Neuropsychology is an intellectually exciting and productive group, advancing fundamental understanding in the cognitive neuroscience and clinical neuropsychology. The research of the department is highly recognized both nationally and internationally. There is a strong ongoing collaboration with the departments of Neurology & Neurosurgery of the Elisabeth Hospital in Tilburg. Conjoint projects focus on cognitive impairments in patients with various neurological diseases such as stroke and brain tumours. There is access to a state-of-the-art MR scanner with functional neuroimaging capabilities.
