Job description

The post-doc will manage the acquisition of international research projects and coordinates the collaboration with partners from many different countries. This includes exploring funding opportunities, building research networks, writing proposals, disseminating results, and communicating the societal impact of these results. It also includes organising education and training of researchers in international collaboration. Depending on the remaining time and research interests of the post-doc, (s)he can also actively participate in the execution of HTA research projects or the supervision of master thesis.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with training in the field of health sciences, healthcare policy and management, (health)economics, biomedical sciences, or similar, who:

  • Has completed a PhD thesis in HTA research
  • Has experience writing research proposals
  • Is proactive, creative, and independent
  • Has strong communication and presentation skills
  • Fluently speaks English, Dutch, and preferably also either French or German
  • Likes to travel within and outside Europe and collaborate with people with different backgrounds and nationalities
  • Has strong organizational skills and keeps deadlines
  • Has experience with quantitative HTA research methods, preferably in different disease areas

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: You will be appointed for a period of 4 years, starting with a temporary contract for 1 year followed by a second temporary contract to the end of the appointment term.

We offer a fulltime position as post-doc researcher at EUR, starting no later than April 1, 2020. You will be appointed for a period of 4 years, starting with a temporary contract for 1 year followed by a second temporary contract to the end of the appointment term. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU). Monthly salary will be according to post-doc scale 11 or 12 ranging from € 3.637 up to € 5.656, depending on experience (2020 gross amounts). EUR offers a set end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and there are generous opportunities for additional education and training.

The Health Technology Assessment (HTA)

The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) department within ESHPM, and its linked contract research institute IMTA, are distinguished by and internationally renowned for independent and excellent research in HTA, health economics and health outcomes research. The HTA department contributes to important and influential methodological innovations in these areas. It is dedicated to stimulating the use of cost-effectiveness information in healthcare decision making. The department coordinates and participates in many international EU-funded projects, like SELFIE, HEcoPerMed, RETRHIM, IMI-PREFER, PECUNIA, COMPAR-EU, COMED, EMPOWER, and PREVENTOMICS (visit the websites of these projects).
