LUMC has recently approved funding for its strategic focus on growth in internationalization. Now, we are seeking to employ a first rate individual to lead our LUMC Global Initiative. Are you the candidate we are looking for?

Job description

LUMC has the ambition to be a magnet for the best players and to build links with a selected number of international institutions for a long-term, sustained equal partnerships in research and education. As the lead in the LUMC Global Initiative, you will contribute to this goal. Specifically, you will focus on the development of strategies and their implementation with regards to the initiative. You will raise funds and build support for the cause. To this end, you will create a network of stakeholders related to the (inter)national field of research and education and will engage both public and private sector.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate at an academic level who is ambitious and inspires and energizes the team. You are creative and outward looking and are able to prioritize activities. Furthermore, you possess great presentation and communication skills and are able to identify and manage important stakeholders. Mostly, you are able to create added value with limited budget. Lastly, since you will be a central point of contact for multiple internal and external stakeholders, nationally and internationally, you are willing to travel.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: min. 1 jaar.

References may be requested. An assignment can be part of the procedure.

You will be appointed for one year, with the possible addition of two more years.

Department

You will be based at the Directorate of Research policy, connecting a network of stakeholders in the LUMC. LUMC is a research-intensive academic medical center, which educates world class medical doctors, biomedical scientists, pharmacists and medical technologists that work together to provide the best patient care, and population health for all. Internationalization is an important pillar that will ensure the knowledge base at the LUMC threads into the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
