Job description

an associate professor or assistant professor in landscape architecture. We specifically look for an experienced colleague with expertise in landscape architectural design on a regional scale. You should be able to contribute to the BSc and MSc programmes in Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning, specifically in teaching regional design. You should be able to substantially contribute to the profiling of the chair group in 'research through design' on a regional scale.

Requirements

the following personal competences: high ambition, academic attitude, creativity, broad interdisciplinary interests, a communicative and collaborative personality, and a passion for education and research.

In general, we expect the successful candidate to:
  • hold a PhD in Landscape Architecture;
  • have several years of experience in landscape architecture practice
  • have experience with regional design in landscape architecture;
  • have a publication record with at least four papers in ISI journals;
  • have experience in teaching;
  • have good communicative and writing skills;
  • be willing to contribute to general tasks and activities of the chair group;
  • have excellent command of English and preferably Dutch, or a willingness to learn Dutch within two years.

Conditions of employment

A tenure track, which allows you to develop towards an Associate Professor with 'ius promovendi'; including the chance to build up your own research line and team.

We offer a stimulating and creative academic working environment, with a diverse and dynamic team consisting of Full professors (2), Associate professors (2), Assistant professors (9), Lecturers (6), Postdocs (5) and PhDs/junior researchers (15). We are part of the department of Environmental Sciences of Wageningen University, which provides fundamental research and academic education on our living environment. We are member of the Wageningen Institute for Environment and Climate Research (WIMEK) and of the Wageningen School of Social Sciences (WASS).Training and coaching are provided and interdisciplinary (international) cooperation is stimulated.

Gross salary: from € 3.255,- to € 5.656,- (scale 11-12), based on full-time employment and depending on expertise and experience.
