Radboud University ranks 35th in the US News Best Global Universities Rankings for neuroscience and behaviour. At Radboud, neuroscience and behavioural research is mainly represented by the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (DI), an institute which fosters extensive collaboration among experts in diverse disciplines to tackle challenges in modern neuroscience. The DI comprises four research centres. Our brand new research group is part of the Donders Centre for Neuroscience, which is affiliated with the Faculty of Science.

The goal of our group is to understand how cognitive control processes (e.g. flexible adaptation in strategy, inhibitory control) are supported by intra- and interlaminar cortical microcircuits as well as network-level long-range communications. We have extensive expertise in the design of novel behavioural paradigms in rodents, motion tracking, high-density electrophysiology and advanced data analyses at the ensemble and network levels. Together with other groups at our Centre, we enjoy a strong synergy in sharing interest, technology and expertise, in a collegial atmosphere. We have access to an animal facility well equipped for a wide range of procedures, supported by a team of experienced technicians. We also have access to a machine shop within the Department of Biophysics as well as a state-of-art technology centre serving the Faculty’s innovative needs. To help postdoctoral researchers achieve their ambitions, the DI has designed a customisable professional development plan for postdoctoral researchers and provides ample resources for the development of specific skills. Our group is deeply committed to the professional advancement of postdoctoral researchers. Postdoctoral positions at Radboud come with a competitive salary, holiday pay, year-end bonus and other benefits. Partners of postdocs have access to the Dual Career Centre.
