The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual, international research university. The Doctoral Training Unit on Enforcement in Multi-level Regulatory Systems II (REMS-II) is opening 1 funded PhD position in EU Law - Doctoral candidate (PhD student) in EU law (m/f) - PRIDE. Your Role

  • The doctoral candidate will conduct research under the guidance of Eleftheria Neframi with the aim of studying towards a PhD in EU Law and more specifically on the topic of enforceability of EU law and availability of legal remedies: the challenges of multi-level settings to the protection and/or promotion of constitutional principles (in the fields of migration or internal market or external action of the EU);
  • The doctoral candidate will publish research results and present them at conferences, workshops, etc.;
  • S/he shall contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Law; a multidisciplinary background in Law and in Economics is an advantage;
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language;
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research;
  • Excellent communication and team working skills are required.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 36 months fixed-term contract, extendable up to 48 months.
