The International Office (IO) is part of the Academic Services Division. Its main task is to provide services in the area of (international) student and staff mobility, international admissions, immigration support, accommodation issues, scholarship programs, and the Tilburg University Summer School. In addition, the IO supports other divisions and Schools with their international activities and advises them in their international strategic goals and mission.

Within the International Office the International Admissions & Immigration team (IA&I) is responsible for facilitating and executing the admission and immigration processes for incoming international degree-seeking students. As of May 1, 2020 team IA&I is looking for an:
INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION COORDINATOR (0.8 FTE, possibly 1.0 FTE)

Job description

Together with our current International Admission Coordinators, you will be responsible for processing international admission applications for our Bachelor/Master’s programs and providing information to applicants via e-mail and the telephone. You are responsible for ensuring the quality and efficient execution of all related tasks.

Your tasks include:

  • Processing applications via our online application system.
  • Processing questions received via e-mail and telephone.
  • Maintaining contact with incoming students before, during and after the application/admission phase.
  • Initiating other processes related to the arrival and enrolment of incoming students e.g. immigration.
  • Maintaining good relationships with the Schools and other internal partners e.g. Student Administration, Marketing and Communication, Scholarship Coordinators.
  • Participating in project groups regarding e.g. efficiency of processes, improvement of communication.

Requirements

We are looking for the following skills/qualities in the successful candidate:

  • A Bachelor and/or Master’s degree at Dutch WO level (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable affinity with internationalization.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • A good level of written and spoken English and Dutch (minimum C1).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proven high level of administrative and organizational skills, including attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain an overview within a complex work environment.
  • Ability to anticipate changing circumstances and respond accordingly.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Proactive in proposing improvements in process.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and to deal with high peaks in workload.
  • Team player who is capable of working independently.
  • Flexibility to work in a newly established team which will continue to change over the coming year.
  • Proven familiarity with the standard MS Office programs (e.g. Excel).
  • Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately.
  • Previous experience within the same or similar function is an advantage.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: temporary for one year, but with a view to making the position permanent.

Tilburg University is rated among the top of Dutch employers and has excellent terms of employment. The selected candidate will be ranked in the Dutch university employment system as ‘Medewerker Studentenzaken 2’, scale 8 depending on relevant working experience and education. The applicable gross salary for a full-time appointment is a maximum of € 3.445 per month. The position is temporary for one year, but with a view to making the position permanent.
