Job description

The section Economics of Technology and Innovation (ETI) at Delft University of Technology offers a lecturer position in the field of Technology and Innovation Management. The main focus of this position is on education. The position will consist of teaching (maximum 80 %) and research. The ETI section is part of the Department of Values, Technology and Innovation (VTI) at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management (TPM) and is involved in three teaching programs at the master level and one at the bachelor level

The lecturer will be mainly involved with teaching for the master program Management of Technology (MOT). This is a two-year international programme for students with a bachelor degree in engineering aimed at learning all relevant aspects of technology and innovation management.  Besides the vast growth in the number of students (from 10 students in 2003 to about 120 in 2019), the programme is acknowledged for the overall quality of the programme as reflected by favourable student evaluations and favourable reviews Educational Assessment Committees.

We are looking for a candidate who is an engaged lecturer with a passion for teaching. Successful applicants contribute to teaching in innovation management with a particular emphasis on marketing management. The applicant is expected to:
• teach and coordinate Master and Bachelor courses related to technology and innovation management with a focus on marketing management topics.
• supervise bachelor and master students during their thesis research.
• contribute to the development of new courses and MOOCs.

The position is temporary for two years.

Requirements

The candidate should have:
• A PhD (or is about to finish PhD soon) degree in technology and innovation management or a related discipline, such as business economics, business administration with a background in innovation management and with affinity with marketing and project management. 
• Experience with academic teaching (and possibly with an university teaching qualification).
• Excellent command of English is required

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 years.
