Job description

The PhD will study collaborative behaviour in circular construction projects through an ethnography approach. PhD student will obtain an in-depth understanding of the daily inter-organisational collaboration and suggest interventions to improve this collaboration. The Phd is actively engaged in the improvement of circular construction projects through action research.

Your duties
  • Conduct data collection through a (multi-sited) ethnography
  • Analyse micro conditions of successful collaboration in circular construction projects
  • Write articles for international peer reviewed scientific journals
  • Write a PhD thesis
  • Support the consortium partners in their transition towards a full circular construction economy
  • Collaborate with other scholars in the research project
  • Participate in the research activities of Organisation Sciences Department
  • Contribute to some teaching tasks of the Organisation Sciences Department

Requirements

  • Msc in organisation sciences, (organisation) anthropology, organisation psychology, or social sciences
  • Has experience with ethnographic research
  • Is interested in circularity, innovation and energy transition
  • Is a team player, working together with other researchers and practitioners of the consortium
  • Needs to be proficient in spoken Dutch

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

A challenging position in a socially involved organisation. The salary will be in accordance with university regulations for academic personnel and amounts €2,325 (scale 85.0) per month during the first year and increases to €2,972 (scale 85.3) per month during the fourth year, based on a full-time employment. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system for PhD's and is vacant for at least 0.8 FTE.

The appointment will initially be for 1 year. After a good evaluation of the initial appointment, the contract will be extended to 4 years.
