Job description

We offer an exciting and varied position in which you as Researcher / Project coordinator have a key international position in coordinating the ABACUS II project. With the global push for generic medicines throughout the world, there is no specific visual feature yet that allows patients to identify the drug they are taking. With the ABACUS II project we aim to build the case for an international system that harmonizes the appearance and thus improves identification of oral solid formulations (capsules and tablets) of antibiotics both for consumers and providers, taking into account the appearance of other drugs.

With the advertised post, we aim to strengthen our team with an enthusiastic researcher with strong coordinating and management skills. You will work together with biomedical researchers and physicians in Asia, Africa and Europe.

Tasks and responsibilities

This is an ambitious project led by Radboudumc, with seven partners in seven countries (including 3 African and 3 Asian countries), aiming to assess how identification of oral antibiotics impacts appropriate community based antibiotic use in low and middle income countries. The project coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation of Welcome Trust funded ABACUS II project and therefor responsible for:
  • Planning of project activities and resource inputs needed (e.g. staff or funds), preparing project reports, coordinating project-related legal aspects.

  • Coordinating and preparing (international) project meetings and conference call (with assistance of the secretary).
  • Monitoring timelines and budgets in accordance with the various contracts.
