Job description

An English teacher/coordinator who provides English language training for various target groups at the university and elsewhere, ranging from courses and workshops to tailor-made training courses. The emphasis is on training teachers from bilingual schools. This involves Cambridge courses, Classroom English courses and online modules. You will be the point of contact for all bilingual schools, maintain contacts, and engage in acquisition. In addition, you will contribute your ideas on new developments, develop new products, conduct intake interviews and prepare price quotes. You are meticulous and will coordinate the English teaching team's scheduling. You will perform a central function and will take charge to ensure that scheduling is in order.

Requirements

  • You have completed a relevant academic study programme.
  • You preferably have a first-degree teaching qualification.
  • You are able to provide training at all levels (A1-C2) of the English language.
  • You are familiar with the range of English courses on offer and are able to provide appropriate advice to potential course participants.
  • You have knowledge of and are familiar with bilingual education at Dutch schools.
  • You have experience with providing digital education.
  • You are meticulous.
  • You are demonstrably enterprising and proactive, whilst you also have a clear vision on your profession.
  • You are preferably a native speaker of English and have a native or near-native command of the Dutch language.
  • You will be based in Nijmegen. You may, however, be deployed at either In'to Languages location (Nijmegen/Wageningen).
  • You have a driving licence and are willing to travel to provide courses, training and workshops.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year, with the possibility of extension.

  • Employment: 24 hours per week.
  • A maximum gross monthly salary of € 5,127 based on a 38-hour working week (salary scale 11).
  • The exact salary depends on the candidate's qualifications and amount of relevant professional experience.
  • In addition to the salary: an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
  • Duration of the contract: 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
  • The intended start date is 1 September 2020.

The Faculty of Arts employs over 500 academic and support staff in the fields of history and art, languages and cultures, linguistics and communication. Research is embedded in two faculty research institutes: the Centre for Language Studies (CLS) and the Radboud Institute for Culture & History (RICH). The faculty currently enrols some 2,400 students, in three departments: the department of History, Art History and Classics, the department of Modern Languages and Cultures, and the department of Language and Communication. 
Radboud in’to Languages is affiliated to Radboud University's Faculty of Arts and has been a leading language and communication centre in the Netherlands since its founding some twenty-five years ago, working within the university as well as for external clients. We offer foreign language courses, Dutch courses for non-Dutch speakers, and communication courses. Our other products and services include translation and editing, communication advice and research, language tests, teaching material development, and research projects. Since 2011, Radboud in'to Languages has been working closely with Wageningen in'to Languages, the language centre at Wageningen University & Research. While maintaining our own identity and specific connection with our clientele, we are able to offer our clients a wider and higher-quality range of language proficiency courses and translation services.
