The Research Team Regeneration of Sensorimotor Systems has a vacancy for a Post-doctoral fellow

The department of Regeneration of Sensorimotor systems in the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience in Amsterdam is recruiting a post-doctoral fellow for the research line “Gene therapy”. The post-doctoral fellow will be involved in establishing a national network aiming at the application of novel non-invasive adeno-associated viral vectors (AAVs). In addition, the fellow will establish his/her own research line based on the use of non-invasive AAVs to study neuroregeneration and brain plasticity.
You have experience with molecular biological techniques, including plasmid cloning, cell culture, plasmid transfections and PCR. Experience with the production of adeno-associated viral vectors and working with laboratory animals would be an asset.
Depending on education and relevant work experience, the gross monthly salary based on full-time employment varies between € 2.790,- and € 4.402,- gross per month (salary scale 10, fulltime 38 hours), in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU), excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. There are excellent fringe benefits.
The Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience is an Academy research institute. It conducts basic and strategic research in the neurosciences. It examines how the human brain makes awareness, perception, movement, learning, social interaction and other cognitive functions possible. It also studies how brain disorders can disrupt these functions.
The project will be executed in the department of Regeneration of Sensorimotor Systems in the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience in close collaboration with a number of external partners at Dutch universities and KNAW institutes.
