Job description

Project description

You will develop theoretical and computational models accounting for the structural and mechanical behaviour of vitrimers, a novel class of polymer materials that inherit unique functionality from dynamic, exchangeable crosslinkers. You will focus on predictive modeling of the mechanical performance provided by different exchange mechanisms, based on experimental results gathered from the different partners of the consortium. The main focus will be to understand the link between structure, microscopic relaxation dynamics, and (bulk) mechanical properties for given exchange mechanisms.

The project will be carried out in the Theory of Polymers and Soft Matter group at the Department of Applied Physics, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. The project will be done under the supervision of profs. Wouter Ellenbroek, Liesbeth Janssen and Cornelis Storm.
