The Faculty of Science, the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) and the Institute Biology Leiden (IBL) are looking for an Assistant Professor in Quantum Science and Society

Job description

  • Establishing an independent line of research on the impact of quantum science and technology on society on the one hand and about diversity in science and technology on the other hand;
  • Daily supervision of group members, i.e. PhD students, post-docs, interns;
  • Teaching in the undergraduate physics curriculum, and in the field of quantum physics and science communication.

Requirements

  • PhD in experimental quantum physics;
  • Expertise in science communication;
  • Experience with evidence-based tutoring projects;
  • Proven track record in acquiring subsidized projects. 

Conditions of employment

This position will shared between the Leiden Institute of Physics and the Institute Biology Leiden. We offer a full-time, fixed-term post. Salary range from € 3.746,- to € 5.127,- gross per month (pay scale 11 in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
