Job description

We are looking for a grant advisor to support researchers in biomedical research with a focus on neuroscience and related fields, to strengthen our Grant Support Office.

Support by the Grant Support Office, part of the Valorisation Department, targets most of the available external grant programs and funding sources. Support and advise is primarily aimed at the acquisition and the pre-award phase of the project life cycle (proposal- or project development), project management is not a main task of the Grant Support Office.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Identifying, monitoring and analyzing external developments regarding availability of research funds in the Netherlands and abroad.
  • Informing, advising and matching researchers pro-actively with respect to funding opportunities.
  • Advising, guiding and supporting researchers with writing of the project proposal (e.g. development process, general proposal parts, budget) and the accompanying administrative preparations as appropriate.
  • Consulting with relevant staff members and project partners (project leader, financial controller, business developer, external parties involved) on the design of the proposal and monitoring of progress of the proposal development process.

Requirements

  • At least two years of postdoc experience, preferable in the field of Neurosciences.
  • Well acquainted with the national and international university world and the national and European subsidy landscape.
  • Recognizable experience with writing of grant applications.
  • Preferably some relevant work experience with grant advising, supporting grant acquisition and reviewing project proposals.
  • Has excellent organizational skills, works project-based and is capable of managing a substantial number of application processes simultaneously.
  • Is a team-player, customer oriented, and works towards results.
  • Has excellent writing and communication skills, both in Dutch and English.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year, with possible extension of another year.

Upon commencement of employment we require a certificate of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag, VOG) and there will be, depending on the type of job, a screening based on the provided cv. Radboud university medical center's HR Department will apply for this certificate on your behalf.
