The Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities is at the forefront of promoting the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in education, work and society. Based in the School of Education, Trinity College Dublin, the Centre has been transforming the possibilities open to people with intellectual disabilities in Ireland through its innovative education model and partnerships with key stakeholders in the education and business world.
To support the further development of this work, Trinity’s School of Education, seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Education on a tenure track contract. The successful candidate will further the mission of the School, including leading our academic programme for people with intellectual disabilities. Equally importantly, the successful candidate will conduct a programme of research relating to intellectual disabilities and inclusion in education.
Our Graduates demonstrate the drive, potential and possibility of what a truly inclusive education environment can bring. This exciting tenure-track position will be pivotal in empowering others to follow in their footsteps and to reshape the education context in Ireland and elsewhere, to allow those with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to transition towards fuller participation in life and society.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to teaching, research and administration within the School through the following activities:
Commensurate with the School’s high profile in policy, research and outreach it is expected that the successful applicant will:
Salary: Appointment will be made on the Lecturer Salary Scale at a point in line with Government Pay Policy [€35,509 to €86,247 per annum], appointment will be made no higher than point 8 [€50,410].
*This position is a Tenure Track position which is 5 years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements.
