You manage at least one H2020 R(I)A multi-partner project as project manager, and are familiar with the financial and non-scientific reporting. The main duties are: day to day project management of assigned projects by ensuring they are executed at the highest possible quality level. You are responsible to support, monitor and guard a smooth, effective and timely execution of the project plan, its progress and its budget. You will assure compliance with the funding agency requirements, agreed contracts and EU policies. You work in close collaboration with the scientific project leader and other team members, as well as other support staff. You ensure a timely reporting on the scientific progress. You will perform financial management and reporting, in close cooperation with the UMCU project control. You coordinate all non-scientific, administrative, financial and contractual obligations and amendments of the projects, towards the funding organization, the consortium partners and UMC Utrecht. You will prepare, organize and follow-up project meetings and assist in (the organization of) dissemination activities like workshops, conferences and publications; You will maintain contacts with external stakeholders and act as first contact for the relevant projects.
The project manager will become a member of the Research Support Office (RSO) team and the Global Health team within the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care. You report directly to the teamleader RSO and you will work closely with the Post-Award coordinator. Next to that, you work closely with the scientific project leaders and the support staff at the division level. As our team is growing fast, we expect the selected candidate to be an involved team player, willing to invest and bring energy to the work place. Within this growing team you are willing to invest to expand our services. As you will work in two project management teams we envision that you will contribute to a closer collaboration and help building up the best practice in project management.

You have a thorough knowledge of European funded research projects and you are well acquainted with the international funding landscape. You have experience in project management of complex international projects. In addition, you have knowledge and experience in the field of financial and legal aspects of EU Horizon 2020 grant projects. In your work you show initiative, you are service-oriented, an efficient communicator and able to establish and maintain interpersonal relations. Your writing skills in both English and Dutch are excellent. You are flexible and have good organizational skills. Furthermore, you are able to prioritize and focus on results. Depending on your experience, this position will be classified in salary scale 10-11 .This will be a temporary appointment for 1 year with the intention of extension..

The Research office is part of the Corporate Staff of the University Medical Center Utrecht. It focuses on strategic advice on development, implementation and evaluation of science policy within UMC Utrecht. We address the local, regional, national and international positioning of the UMC Utrecht research. One of our tasks is to expand the network, as well as increase the knowledge base by training of researchers and support staff.
