As Head of Finance, you play an important role in controlling the financial processes within a complex faculty. Within the context of growing externally funded projects, ambitions to change the funding strategy of student scholarships and changes in organization, you are expected to search for problem-solving interventions and proposals. We seek high quality, strength, and command of the financial management and also of the professional character and position of the department.

•  You manage and lead the Finance functions in all aspects of Accounting and Financial Management to give the most effective support towards stakeholders in the Faculty ITC and with your colleagues from the other faculties, the University of Twente.
• You supervise, develop and organize the financial department that consists of around 10 colleagues.
• You act as a major support to the Faculty management in the area of Accounting and Finance and Management, in close coordination with the Faculty Business Controller.
• You are responsible for the management of all day-to-day finance operation.
• You direct, monitor and present the provision of effective project budgeting and controlling within the Faculty.
• You have an active role in reshaping the ITC scholarship strategy.
• You prepare annual budgets and then report on actuals compared to budgets and advise on actions to be taken, in close coordination with the Business Controller of the faculty.
• You ensure compliance with all University of Twente and other reporting requirements.
• You coordinate the year-end closing and financial auditing process.
• You work closely with the coordinator projects and coordinator student administration on cost planning an controlling.
• You actively participate in UT Strategic Plans and other projects, such as the implementation of a new financial application for the whole university.
• You develop and maintain relationships internal and external by participating in University Twente Finance Groups.

• An accountancy qualification is essential (BSc level or MSc level)
• You can deal with a challenging, ever-changing environment while maintaining the ability to build relationships at all levels in a complex organization.
• You can work strategically with senior stakeholders.
• You have leadership skills to manage medium-large teams, ideally in a large organization.
• You have excellent communications and advising skills and the ability to present both written and verbal information to the faculty management, controlling department and the UT Central Finance department.
• An excellent command of English and Dutch (written and spoken) is a must.
• You need to be hands-on and able to be involved in detail.
• You can act as a sparring partner and coaching team builder for your own team.

• Gross monthly salary between € 4,538.- and € 5,826.- depending on experience and qualifications (job profile Controller, level 3).

Within the Faculty ITC, the department Financial and Economic Affairs (FEA) is taking care of the financial administration of all the incoming funding and is also responsible for the correct financial management and optimal security of externally funded projects. The department FEA is also responsible for the financial administration of the study programmes and the students within the Faculty.
