The three positions will be combined into one nomination. The successful candidate will be fulltime employed by Codarts University of Arts Rotterdam. For the Professor by special appointment, the candidate is assigned by Codarts to work at Leiden University/ACPA for one day per week for a period of five years.

The professor by special appointment “Intercultural Performing Arts’ will be expected to devote one day per week to teaching and research at Leiden University. He/she will become a full member of the academic community of the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA) at the Faculty of Humanities.

The professor will also oversee, as Dean of the Graduate School, the research by faculty and master students at Codarts, and will contribute proactively to the enhancement of diversity and inclusivity in master education and research.

With regard to the function of Dean of Codarts Graduate School the following additional requirements apply:

The holder of the special chair will not become an employee of Leiden University. The chair is financed by Codarts. The professor by special appointment - based as lector/dean at Codarts Rotterdam – will be assigned by Codarts to work at Leiden University/ACPA for five years for 0,2 fte (7,6 hrs).
Terms and Conditions (Codarts University of Arts Rotterdam)
The Lector Intercultural Performing Arts (0.3 FTE) and Dean Graduate School (0.5 FTE), and the holder of the special chair will be employed by Codarts. The professor by special appointment - based as lector/dean at Codarts Rotterdam – will be assigned by Codarts to work at Leiden University/ACPA for five years for 0.2 FTE (7.6 hrs). The starting date is 1 September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Salary depending on experience in scale 15 (min. € 5.797,43 - max. € 7.485,19 gross per month based on 1 FTE) in accordance with the collective labor agreement for 2020. The contract will be for 5 years, with the possibility of extension. Appointment and renumeration are in accordance with the collective agreement for higher professional vocational education cao-hbo. ACPA is a research institute of the Faculty of Humanities at Leiden University and embodies the collaboration between Leiden University and the University of the Arts The Hague (the Royal Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Art).
