The department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) is looking for a
(Junior) lecturer (wetenschappelijk docent) in the area of strategic management.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic (junior) lecturer and course developer to help strengthen our dynamic, international, and diverse teaching environment in the field of strategic management.

Your main tasks
Depending on your profile and seniority, your tasks may include:
  • Assist and support faculty by setting-up, coordinating and maintaining courses in our learning management system. Communicating with students.
  • hire and coordinate student-assistants to assist in grading
  • teach seminar sessions and lectures in existing courses in RSM's bachelor and master programmes
  • coach students so they can excel in their theses and internships
  • co-develop courses with faculty
  • coordinate and teach your own elective courses in our MSc programme in Strategic Management.

Requirements

This position covers the area of strategic management, so we welcome candidates with a bachelor or master degree in business administration, or a comparable education.

Your required competences
Teaching experience and co-ordination skills are a strong advantage. Teaching for all programmes is done in English so proficiency in English is required.

Conditions of employment

The position should start in August or September 2021. Erasmus University has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent and a considerable amount of vacation days.

Department

The department of Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship plays an important role in all major teaching programmes at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, such as BSc Business Administration and BSc International Administration, MSc International Management/CEMS, and Executive MBA. The department is home to in the MSc Strategic Management and MSc Strategic Entrepreneurship. We aim to continuously develop and improve the courses we offer to actively align them with the changing business environment, and are research-driven in what we teach.

The department belongs to Europe's strongest Strategy departments in terms of research output and impact. It consists of over approximately 40 teachers and researchers, including about 10 PhD candidates. It has excellent contacts with national and multinational businesses, and has a number of internationally renowned professors. Education and research are focused on strategic management, global strategy, family business, individual and corporate entrepreneurship, co-operation and competition between companies, and strategic renewal.
