Job description

The Biophotonics and Medical Imaging group of the Faculty of Science of Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam in a collaboration with Photosynthetic B.V. has an opening for Technical Staff position for developing a novel method for 3D printing. This half a year project is at the interface between science and applications. The project will be dedicated to exploratory research of 3D microscopy techniques including structured light illumination, confocal microscopy and focal stacking. The goal of the project is to assess applicability of different methods for the use in microfabrication systems e.g. micro-lithography.
Preference will be given to candidates with background in microscopy and imaging methods. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis and as soon as an excellent match is made, the position will be filled.

Your duties
  • Comparative study of various imaging techniques
  • Carrying out measurements with the existing experimental setup
  • Analysis of the experimental data and optimization of the image reconstruction algorithms

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 6 months.

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €2,656 (scale 8) and a maximum €3,548 (scale 8), depending on your education and experience. The job profile is Education and Research Technician- O profile 4 and is vacant for at least 0.8 FTE.

The initial employment contract will affect a period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
