Are you a strategic networker with great analytical and creative skills, capable of spotting external funding opportunities for Tilburg University (TiU) researchers and act on these opportunities? Do you enjoy shaping cooperation with both national and international partners? Then you might be our new Collaborative Grants Officer.

Job description

As a Collaborative Grants Officer, you support and advise TiU academics throughout the entire process, from identifying interesting grant opportunities, building consortia and writing proposals right up to the contract phase. You will focus mainly on Dutch collaborative grants.

The tasks include the following aspects:

  • Provide access and frequent communication (e.g. via newsletter, website, info sessions) of information to TiU academics on relevant national and international grant schemes for research consortia.
  • Analyse calls, funding schemes, and policy frameworks. Create, signal, and follow-up on funding-leads in cooperation with TiU academics and with the other collaborative grant officers.
  • Encourage and coordinate with academics to apply for research grants.
  • Strengthen grant proposals by advising on what a strong consortium would look like, partly inspired by the specific call for which the proposal is intended.
  • Support the writing process by reading proposals and providing feedback on them. Translating the grant conditions of the specific scheme into suggestions for improvements that academics can use for their proposal.
  • Provide procedural support for grant applications, monitor applicable deadlines and provide administrative assistance in completing application forms.
  • Attend externally organised workshops and information meetings to keep up to date on the various grant schemes.
  • Maintain contacts with relevant funding organisations.
  • Contribute to other possible activities of Grant Support, such as improving visibility of the department within the university, and providing advice on funding opportunities, plans and policy to the TiU Executive Board, the Schools’ management teams, Vice-Deans, Head of Departments and/or Directors of Institutes.
