Job description

Due to a growing order portfolio, we are looking to expand our team. As a researcher at the CEW you are an important link in the chain of government – education – business. Project Managers, Project Engineers, Lecturers, Researchers and students work closely together to make the connection between the demand from businesses and the innovation capacity of universities of applied sciences.

This is what you are going to do:
Together with the other researchers in our team, you will ensure professional supervision of the students conducting the research (Vocational education, Aplied Sciences and University level) on a daily basis. You coordinate several studies simultaneously and are responsible for the quality and the results.
In addition, you draw up the action plan for the various studies in collaboration with the project manager and the client, and you write research plans, subsidy proposals and (national) programs.

Requirements

You have completed a relevant PhD or Master and have at least 3 years of work experience in project-based research. Collaboration with students appeals to you and you get satisfaction from the development they go through, thanks in part to your excellent guidance. The social objectives of the CEW and working in a non-profit organisation that revolves around students appeals to you.
You have knowledge of the field of water technology or are willing to learn more about it. Optimising technological processes and thinking about and advising on next steps in research from lab to full scale holds no secrets for you. Where necessary, you act as a sparring partner for our customers.

Other traits and skills:

  • experience with and pleasure in guiding and supervising students;
  • curious and versatile;
  • team player;
  • flexible;
  • good communication skills, both orally and in writing;
  • good command of the English language and preferably also the Dutch language or the willingness to learn it.
