Job description

We are looking for a TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
Are you an enthusiastic and experienced analytical assistant, who is dedicated to research and education in Physics and Physical Chemistry and also is a keen team player?
Then we are looking for you!


You will perform coordinating and assisting tasks in various practical aspects of our courses, for training and supporting the PhD's and students in using the equipment of our group and for maintaining the equipment.
You are also responsible for testing new equipment to facilitate equipment purchase decisions and you will participate in obtaining data for specific research activities. You are responsible for maintaining and purchasing chemicals and small lab equipment.

Requirements

  • A HBO-level qualification in physics/physical/analytical chemistry;
  • knowledge of physico-chemical aspects of materials, preferably foods;
  • hands-on experience with various techniques, including, preferably, rheological methods, light scattering, microscopy, tensiometry;
  • intrinsic motivation for continuous improvement of education;
  • proactive team skills, willing to take responsibility for day-to-day functioning of laboratory facilities;
  • didactic qualities and enthusiasm for teaching and working with students;
  • excellent communication skills;
  • an excellent command of the English language, both orally and in writing.
