The Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences of the University of Groningen invites applicants for a temporary teaching position in Organizational Psychology. This position will be located in the Department of Psychology.

Candidates are expected to teach existing and regular parts of the curriculum, for instance courses from the Bachelor programme. Several (hybrid) working methods are used, and the courses are given in English as well in Dutch.

Requirements

- a completed Master in social and behavioural sciences (organizational psychology or other relevant field)
- an (almost) completed PhD in a field relevant to organizational psychology
- interest in and affinity with teaching and innovating teaching methods
- the ability to communicate and teach in English and knowledge of Dutch or willingness to learn it within a reasonable period
- excellent social and communicative skills and ability to work in groups
- important competencies are analytical skills, environment orientation, presenting and result orientation.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 36 months.

We offer in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:

• a salary, depending on qualifications and work experience, with a minimum of € 2,790 to a maximum of € 4,402 (salary scale 10) gross per month for a full-time position
• an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus, participation in a pension scheme for employees and excellent secondary benefits. We offer 232 holiday hours per calendar year for a full-time employment
• two temporary positions for a maximum term of three years with a scope of appointment between 0.3 and 0.8 FTE.

We study issues relating to human behaviour, and the relationships between people and society as a whole. This includes the study of how people function under normal circumstances, but also of the problems encountered by individuals or groups, and how to resolve or prevent these. Our faculty employs about 650 employees.

The Department of Psychology is part of our faculty and we offer bachelor’s and master’s programs in both Dutch and English to over 3,000 students. Our department's student population is very international; more than half of our students are non-Dutch and come from countries all over the world. We teach in Dutch as well as in English.

The organizational psychology group shares responsibility for teaching in the (English and Dutch) bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The teaching philosophy is to provide the knowledge and skills required to analyze, understand, and change a wide variety of phenomena that occur in organizations. The successful candidate teaches and coordinates courses in organizational psychology, supervises Bachelor and Master students, and plays an active role in responding to developments in the teaching of organizational psychology.
