Job description

Are you an enthusiastic and excellent lecturer in the field of organisational behaviour and leadership, keen to help strengthen our diverse international team? Our department has a strong research and teaching tradition, and has a network that links to local and international practitioners and academics. We aim to provide innovative teaching so we're looking for a candidate who is passionate about educating and inspiring the next generation of purposeful leaders.

Your main tasks
Your role is to support the Erasmus Centre for Leadership as executive co-ordinator, and to teach and co-ordinate courses for our two bachelor programmes (the BSc Business Administration Bedrijfskunde and BSc International Business Administration), and the MSc Business Administration Master in Management.

Tasks include:
  • Co-ordinating several major initiatives for academic collaboration with the Centre's academic directors, and maintaining the schedule of educational and outreach activities and deliverables
  • Course delivery, including lectures (classroom, online and blended), assignments and examinations
  • Course design and co-ordination including the mentorship programme, Organisational Behaviour course, and coaching classes
Case development and research into education and leadership development can be part of this position.

Requirements

  • We prefer you have (or expect to complete soon) a PhD in management, organisational behaviour, organisational psychology, or a closely related field, and can demonstrate a strong interest and ability to teach in the field of leadership. The courses and activities you will teach contain leadership-related content such as coaching and leadership development. General knowledge of organisational behaviour is also required.
  • Experience of coaching and project management is a plus
  • You can teach at an academic level in English (CEFR level C2, the ability to teach in Dutch (CEFR level C2) is a strong pro.
  • You have completed the University Teaching Qualification (BKO) or equivalent or are willing to acquire that soon.

Your required competences
  • You are a passionate and persuasive teacher.
  • You are a team player and are open to collaborate with various faculty members across the different courses and programmes.
  • You are eager to deliver high-quality content and constructive feedback.
  • You are proactive, conscientious and can organise well
  • Experience and/or interests in Social Media activities
  • Strong written and spoken English. You will be expected to teach at an academic level in English (CEFR level C2). The ability to teach in Dutch (CEFR level C2) is a strong advantage.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 24 months with possible extension for another 24 months.

  • The role starts on 1 September 2021. An earlier starting date can be discussed. At the moment, education at RSM according to government Covid-19 restrictions, so expect a mixture of online and on-campus (face-to-face) activities.
  • The position is at the level of lecturer, on a temporary basis of two years. Subsequent contract renewal is possible with a track record of excellent teaching. In the long term, a permanent position with promotion to senior lecturer might be possible.
  • We offer excellent training and career development opportunities. You will closely collaborate with experienced faculty members in developing and delivering courses at the BSc and MSc levels. RSM has a dedicated Learning Innovation Team, which supports faculty members in improving and innovating their courses and programmes.
  • You will have an important role in our Erasmus Centre for Leadership, developing and teaching innovative evidence-based programmes and co-ordinating activities.
The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 2,790 gross per month (scale 10 CAO NU) and up to a maximum of € 5,127 gross per month (scale 11 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.
