Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative candidate with demonstrable experience conducting psycholinguistics research to study language and other cognitive functions in young stroke. You will carry out research as a member of the Language Function and Dysfunction group at the Department of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology of the Donders Institute and the Neurovascular Disease research group at the Radboud university medical center under the supervision of Dr Vitória Piai and Professors Roy Kessels and Frank-Erik de Leeuw. You will have access to all experimental facilities of the Donders Institute.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with 
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as cognitive neuroscience, neurolinguistics, neuropsychology, or medicine.
  • Demonstrable experience with experimental psychology research.
  • A keen interest in patient research and in the language sciences.
  • Good analytical and data analysis skills, preferably in R and MATLAB.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in Dutch is desirable because of patient contact, but not mandatory.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: •you will be appointed for an initial period of 18 months, after which your performance will be evaluated. If the evaluation is positive, the contract will be extended by 2.5 years (4 year contract).

  • Employment: 1.0 FTE.
  • The gross starting salary amounts to €2,395 per month based on a 38-hour working week, and will increase to €3,061 in the fourth year (salary scale P).
  • In addition to the salary: an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
  • Duration of the contract: you will be appointed for an initial period of 18 months, after which your performance will be evaluated. If the evaluation is positive, the contract will be extended by 2.5 years (4 year contract).
  • The intended start date is 1 September 2021.
  • You will be part of the Donders Graduate School for Cognitive Neuroscience.
