At the Education Institute (EdIn), we are looking for a new Scientific Director. In this role, you will be responsible for steering a team of international experts responsible for implementing the education programmes (both Bachelor and Master) at the School of Business and Economics (SBE).

Job description

What are we looking for?

  • You are a member of the academic community;

  • You have completed your PhD; 

  • You have received your University Teaching Qualification (UTQ);

  • You are a Full Professor, Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer in the field of Business, Economics,  Sustainability, Governance or a related field, including Educational Sciences;

  • Knowledge of regulations and laws regarding higher education in The Netherlands is a plus;

  • You have proven managerial experience within the field of higher education;

  • You have affinity with complex organisational structures and the challenges these bring;

  • You have a rich track record in higher education at various levels, including executing education as well as performing managerial tasks within the realm of education;

  • You contribute to the strategic agenda of SBE and have an affinity with technology enhanced learning.

Fixed-term contract: 3 years.

What we have to offer

As Scientific Director, you are accountable to the Board of SBE. We offer a 0.7-1.0 fte appointment for 3 years. In case of good performance and equal prospects for the faculty, the position can be temporarily extended.

Remuneration will be according to standard salary levels, depending on education, relevant work experience and background.

Each year the standard salary is supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%. Other secondary conditions include e.g. partially paid parental leave.

If you do not already live in Maastricht (or its direct surroundings), you will be eligible for a moving costs allowance and will be temporarily eligible for an allowance for alternative housing.
