For the project Computational Literary Studies Infrastructure (CLS INFRA) the Huygens Institute is looking for a Project Staff Member.

Job description
Your tasks will be to organise the production of training materials, training schools, and to identify and map the specific requirements of researchers who wish to study literature using technology and AI in the European project, Computational Literary Studies Infrastructure (CLS INFRA). This is a four-year partnership to build a shared resource of high-quality data, tools and knowledge needed for literary studies using artificial intelligence and other computational methods. The project is being supported with funding from the European Commission.

Huygens Institute is looking for a dynamic, socially proficient, and empathic young scholar with an MA in literary studies and an proven affinity with computational literary studies who will help to build the European network of CLS scholars and assist to provide this community with the needed materials.

• A Master’s degree in Literary studies
• Affinity with Computational Literary Studies
• Proficiency in English
• Willingness to travel for the organization of training schools
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong social skills

Appointment 
The appointment will initially be for 1 year, with the possibility of an extension.

Terms of employment
The position will be at grade 10 (CAO Dutch University pay grades) depending on the level of relevant experience and will attract a salary ranging between € 2.790,00 and € 4.402,00 (minimum and maximum gross salary for fulltime 38hr).  The salary is supplemented with an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities is applicable.

The Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands (Huygens ING)

The Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands (Huygens ING) is an Academy research institute that studies the history of science, Dutch history and literature. Huygens ING extracts information from historical sources and literary texts, is building a digital infrastructure, and offers searchable online data. It provides an historical context for contemporary issues related to politics and governance, literature, science and society.
