Job description


As a Digital Marketeer you are a specialist in Paid Advertising to strengthen the international branding of VU Amsterdam. You are involved in setting up, managing, monitoring and optimizing online campaigns through all digital channels worldwide on a daily basis. You are responsible for targeted campaigns on e.g. social media, remarketing, direct mailings and Google Adds . You are the link between information, inspiration and findability. You continuously interact with the various stakeholders and work closely with your colleague international digital marketer and our motivated Summer and Winter School team. The main programmes you are involved in are the VU Amsterdam Summer School and the VU Graduate Winter School. You will be part of the International Marketing team (VU International Office), who is also responsible for student recruitment for our International Bachelor and Master programmes.

Your duties
  • Create content and develop and analyse social media campaigns develop, run and optimize SEA campaigns
  • optimize the use of referrals (i.e. online portals such as Studyportals and Summer Schools in Europe)
  • stay updated on the latest marketing trends both on digital advertisement and socials
  • customer profiling and perform market orientation for our different programmes
  • suggest changes for improvements in our programmes to match customer demand

Requirements

  • Completed education at Bachelor’s level in Communication & Marketing
  • at least 2 years of experience in digital marketing preferably in the Higher Education Sector
  • excellent oral and written command of the English language, understanding Dutch is an advantage
  • experience with online marketing tools such as web analytics, SEO and SEA
  • Result driven, responsible, a proactive attitude, team player, creative, and intercultural competences.
     

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €2,656 (scale 8) and a maximum €3,548 (scale 8), depending on your education and experience. The job profile (Communicatiemedewerker 2) is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for 0.6 FTE.

The initial employment contract will affect a period of 1 year, with the possibility of extension. Additionally, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam offers excellent fringe benefits and various schemes and regulations to promote a good work/life balance, such as:

Student & Educational Affairs employs more than 200 individuals in seven departments: Management, Student Administration (SSA), Student Counselling (CSB), Educational Policy, Quality Assurance and Process Management (OKP), International Office (IO), VU Sports Centre and Griffioen Cultural Center.
