Job description

Do you want to use your passion to study the possible risks of exposure to nano and microplastics for human health as a Post-Doctoral researcher? Are you motivated to work in an team of scientists in an ambitious Dutch research program? Do you have an excellent track-record in toxicology with proven skills in analytical chemistry?

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As an experienced Post Doc you will work at the Toxicology group of Wageningen University within a Dutch research consortium on the human health risks of nano and microplastics. The research in the Toxicology group focusses on molecular-driven, mechanistic understanding of toxicological processes related to human health and their translation into risk assessment for human health. Currently micro and nanoplastics are found in the environment, the air we breathe and the food we eat, but does this pose a human health risk? Clearly, there is a strong societal concern on the wide occurrence of micro and nano plastics. In this project you will study the potential effects of micro and nanoplastics on the human intestine (in vitro). For this you will use several in vitro cell cultures and combine this with analytical chemistry based proteomics approaches. You will be involved in supervision of PhD and MSc thesis students who work in our research team.
