A lecturer to teach in a range of different courses offered by the water systems and global change group. We are contributing to three different Master Programmes: International Land and Water Management, Climate Studies and Environmental Sciences. Within these programme we offer a range of Master courses related to Global change impacts on water resources and climate change impacts and adaptations. As maternity cover for two of our staff and to deal with additional MSc thesis students who delayed their thesis due to COVID-19, we are looking for a lecturer who will support us in our teaching programme.

The appointment will be for one year, during this year s/he will also have the opportunity to develop a PhD research proposal. If the proposal is funded s/he is invited to stay at the group for the length of the PhD project. The tasks of the Lecturer will include teaching during the different master and BSc minor courses, supervising student groups within different courses, intake of MSc thesis students who plan to do their thesis in our group, assisting with supervisions of BSc or MSc thesis students, and coordinating our thesis ring.

• A lecturer with an MSC in International Land and Water Management, or a related field
• Affinity with the research and teaching of the Water systems and global change group, in particular for the MSc programme International Land and Water Management
• Interest in teaching and preferably some teaching experience
• Potentially willingness to develop a PhD research proposal
• Excellent English communication skills

The Water Systems and Global Change (WSG) group is a solution oriented multidisciplinary research group where staff and students can develop new skills and excel in their science. In our research, we analyze and assess the impacts of climate change and population growth on water systems and propose and test adaptation strategies. We use simulation models, earth system observations, scenario analysis and field studies. We actively invite students from different backgrounds, and skills and interests to take part in our courses and research. Also our staff comes from very different backgrounds. Currently our group has 15 staff members, 7 post-docs and more than 30 PhD students. The group currently has as an excellent funding base with lots of external grants and projects from a broad range of funding organizations. Research of the group has a strong international focus, with projects at global scale as well as a strong focus on Africa and Asia.

Our teaching focusses on contribution to three different Master Programs: International Land and Water Management, Climate Studies and Environmental Sciences. A growing number of students is interested in the work of our group and last year we had about 70 MSc students doing their Master thesis at our group.
