Job description

To conduct a research project co-financed by the Leibniz Association, the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) – Member of the Leibniz Association is offering a PhD Position (Doctoral Researcher) (f/m/x, 75%), assigned to the Department of Financial Markets, starting as soon as possible. The research project is headed by Dr Franziska Bremus (DIW Berlin) and Assistant Professor Dr Lena Tonzer (IWH Halle & VU Amsterdam). The place of employment is Halle (Saale), whereas research stays at the cooperating institutions are possible. Your remuneration entitlement corresponds to pay group 13 of the German public sector salary scheme TV-L.

Requirements

You hold a high-quality master degree in economics or related fields and have very good knowledge of applied micro­econometrics, experience in the analysis of microdata as well as in dealing with corresponding statistical software (e.g. Stata). Your working methods are self-responsible and structured. Organisational talent as well as team orientation and proficiency in English round off your profile. You are open to get in touch with the national and international scientific community and to cooperate with other IWH researchers. Participation in the IWH Doctoral Programme in Economics (IWH-DPE) and the Central-German Doctoral Program in Economics (CGDE), which IWH organises jointly with neigh­boring universities, is obligatory.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: Three years; an extension by one year is possible.
