You will be part of a team that continuously works on educational innovation in the Centre of Expertise in Learning and Teaching (CELT). CELT supports teachers in the field of educational development.

We are looking to expand the team due to the increasing number of services and projects and need both new and experienced professionals.

Position description

You will be assigned to one of the faculties for part of your time to advise on the design and implementation of quality improvements and educational innovation. In addition, you will be a teacher trainer and provide educational and didactic training courses that contribute to teacher professionalisation. With a strong focus on connection, in this position you will cover:
  • supporting teachers in obtaining the UTQ (University Teaching Qualification) by conducting intake interviews, through lesson observations, organising theme meetings, holding individual feedback interviews and coaching teachers during the UTQ process.
  • contributing to the improvement and innovation of education; you will advise, guide and support teachers (and teacher teams) in solving educational issues.
  • providing training for different target groups, ranging from student assistants to PhD candidates and lecturers.
  • cooperating with e-learning and ICT specialists to ensure optimal use of technology.
  • supporting practical research.
  • complementing the role of Senior Educational Adviser.
  • assessing teacher portfolios and conducting assessment interviews in the context of UTQ.
  • supporting innovation pilots/projects.
  • practical research.

Requirements

As an educational adviser you are great at combining content and processes. With your networking skills you inspire others to action and you are able to build a strong network. You closely follow new developments in education and convert them into experiments. You have enthusiasm, expertise and creativity and you inspire colleagues and clients. Moreover, you are realistic and practical. We also think it is important that you have:
  • an academic education, preferably in Educational Sciences, Developmental Psychology or Work and Organisational Psychology.
  • an educational qualification and preferably also experience as a teacher.
  • a strong affinity with the use of ICT in education.
  • depending on your time in the field, affinity or experience with educational innovation and educational consultancy.
  • good coaching capacities and experience with trends in that area.
  • capacity to work in an international context and in a team and to manage cultural differences.
  • excellent advice and communication skills in Dutch and English.

Conditions of employment

As an educational adviser, the University of Twente offers you an employment contract for 24-38 hours a week. Initially as a 1-year appointment with the prospect of permanent employment. You will become a professional at a leading technical university with increasing positive and social impact. And that includes:
  • a gross monthly salary depending on experience, a minimum of € 2,709 (scale 10) to a maximum of € 5,127 (scale 11), depending on the education and experience you bring and based on a full-time employment contract.
