We are looking for a highly motivated junior research to contribute to the project “Communicating and improving students’ interdisciplinary engagement with social (in)justice” and join the editorial team of the “Learning for Equality in Rotterdam” website (https://www.eur.nl/en/research/research-areas/learning-equality), starting January 3rd 2022.

Job description

“Communicating and improving students’ interdisciplinary engagement with social (in)justice” is a project funded by Erasmus University’s Community for Learning and Innovation (CLI)  and is sponsored by EUR’s Vital Cities and Citizens initiative.

A key component of the research project is the online platform “Learning for Equality in Rotterdam.” This recently launched website brings together assignments about social in/equalities in Rotterdam, produced by students from different EUR faculties. It also includes short video clips about the courses where students produce these assignments. For more information about the project and how the editorial team works, you can listen to this podcast: https://open.spotify.com/episode/08mcOe543Zo0Zkrf6QshQZ

  • Establish interdisciplinary contacts with lecturers, EUR students, and illustrators, artists, audiovisual producers, and other collaborators within and outside EUR.
  • Contribute with new ideas to improve the site and its value for multiple actors within and outside the university.
  • Help further improve and implement an ethics protocol to minimize any negative consequences of publishing the assignments (protecting student-authors and their sources).
  • Help promote the project on social media and other online and offline channels.
  • Help organize social events, which will bring together various parties involved (including lecturers, student-authors, and collaborators).
