Together you will design teaching programmes and courses in the Bachelor's Global Sustainability Science and the Master’s programmes Sustainable Development and Water Science and Management and successfully acquire research funding.

Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to the teaching and organisation of Bachelor’s courses, including:

  • as well as interdisciplinary sustainability courses (for example Duurzame Ontwikkeling, Environmental Impact Assessment, Regional Integration Project, Consultancy Project);
  • and individual student supervision (Bachelor’s theses and “tutoraat”).

Under supervision the new Junior Assistant Professor will contribute to cutting-edge research on environmental change and ecosystems to develop competitive research proposals in the field. Empirically the successful candidate will have strong affinity with field research in ecology, biodiversity, soil and water quality, and/or ecosystem functioning. Lab experience and modeling skills are considered a plus. Based on their personal development as a teacher, the candidate can obtain a Basic Teaching Qualification, which is important for a further academic career. Finally, the candidate will be challenged to develop their own line of research and will be given the opportunity to contribute to or lead acquisition and the execution of externally funded projects. The possibility of obtaining a PhD is an explicit goal, but will depend on the ambition and personal wishes of the candidate. All teaching and supervision will be in English, which is also the working language of our research group and institute.
