Are you a social psychologist who is passionate about teaching? Effective April 2022, we are seeking a lecturer in social psychology.

Within the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, the discipline of Psychology offers a range of Bachelor's and Master’s degree programmes, while its research is carried out at the Psychology Research Institute.

The successful applicant will be part of the Social Psychology program group and will have proven ability and motivation to teach in the Social Psychology BSc specialization, the Social Influence track and/or the Cultural Psychology track of our Master's program as well as in the interdisciplinary Bachelor program Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE).

What are you going to do?

As lecturer of social psychology, you will be responsible for:

  • teaching and developing Bachelor and Master level courses and tutorial groups on social-psychological topics, including social influence and/or cultural psychology, as well as courses on research methods and academic skills;
  • supervising student research projects at Bachelor and Master level.

Requirements

What do we require of you?

You have:

  • preferably a PhD in (social) psychology;
  • a Master’s degree in social psychology;
  • experience in teaching, developing, and improving courses and supervising theses on social-psychological topics at the Bachelor and Master level (with good evaluations);
  • a Universal Teaching Qualification (UTQ) or a willingness to obtain one;
  • excellent English proficiency;

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: two years.

Our offer

The employment period is for two years. Salary and tasks depend on education and relevant work experience. If you have a PhD you will be appointed as ‘docent 3’ with a minimum salary of €3,821 and a maximum salary of €5,230 (scale 11) gross per month based on a full-time appointment for a 38-hour working week. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU) is applicable.
