General aspects

The Education and Student Affairs service (ESA) is the central service point for teachers and (prospective) students at Eindhoven University of Technology and provides a range of services both centrally and from the faculties in the field of educational support, educational logistics, study skills, career guidance, use of ICT resources in education, professional skills and language teaching. ESA also supports the Executive Board, the Deans of the Bachelor College and the Graduate School, and the departments in the fields of education policy, legislation and regulations, quality assurance, education and institution accreditation, educational innovation and internationalization.

The Teacher Support & Quality Assurance department consists of two main areas of attention: Educational Teacher Support and Educational Quality Assurance. The Teacher Support service team aims to be a main partner in driving the developments towards TU/e vision 2030. This is realized by implementations of innovations and the development of learning skills, by offering effective, efficient, customer-oriented services, with state-of-the-art knowledge and hands-on skills on education, innovation and educational technologies.

The Central Teacher Support team is looking for a colleague who wants to help to further develop a high-quality, professional digital assessment service. We attach great value to customer focus, learning ability and cooperation.

Job description

Various preconditions have been created at the TU/e for innovations in education. Many new educational technologies and AV resources (EdTech) are now making it possible to design education in an optimal mix of forms. Teachers are making increasing use of this.

Capacity is needed in special in the further development and implementation of the digital assessment systems (e.g., ANS) at TU/e and a diversity of projects that contribute to the implementation of TU/e vision 2030 (e.g. Learning Analytics).

You will be part of a team of motivated and professional teacher support officers / education experts helping TU/e teachers to design and innovate their assessments. Our mission is together with the departmental teacher support officers to provide high-quality EdTech support that is always up to date. The team supports the lecturer during the educational design process, analyses, advises, spars, but also has a hands-on mentality and makes a difference. In this way, we enable the teachers to develop forms of education including assessment that optimally help transfer the specialist knowledge of lecturers to the students. In that educational design, the student is always central.

Requirements

Are you the innovative educational developer with hands-on project management and stakeholder management skills and the necessary experience who wants to help implement the TU/e ambition to enhance teaching and learning with digital tools and expand blended learning?

Do you function optimally in a matrix of actors, and are you a team player with a customer-oriented attitude?

Are you curious and eager to learn all about the rapidly developing field of EdTech and assessment and willing to share that knowledge with the stakeholders involved?

Are you good in translating educational needs in EdTech requirements and are you the liaison to colleagues from the ICT department to help teachers reach their goals?

Do you like pioneering and sharing experiences with the community?

Then we look forward to receiving your application! Particularly if you recognize the following characteristics in yourself:
  • Bachelor's degree in Educational Sciences or comparable,
  • Affinity with ICT related topics in education (e.g., LTI, API, Tool Integration in IT landscape),
  • Affinity with innovations in (digital) assessment,
  • Process thinker,
  • Experience in translating educational needs to technical functionalities e.g. assessment systems and educational tools,
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience with ICT in (Higher-) Education,
  • You have experience advising teachers and managing educational projects with a hands-on mentality (preferably Prince2),
  • You familiarize yourself quickly with new tasks, you are independent,
  • Good command of the English language, spoken and written.

We are offering a 0.8 - 1.0 FTE appointment.
Depending on experience and education, the salary for a full-time contract ranges between €2.846,00 and €4.490,00 gross per month (salary scale 10 CAO Dutch Universities). The TU/e offers a broad package of fringe benefits, for instance a year-end bonus of 8.3%, holiday allowance of 8% and excellent sport facilities.

We are offering a temporary appointment for a period of one year. The employment contract may be extended in the event of good performance and if the financial conditions remain the same.

Depending on the CV and work experience, an appointment via EUFLEX (TU/e secondment agency) is possible.
