As a project controller you are the financial brain of our research projects during the project cycle. From the development of a funding proposal to the final audit closing, you advise and take care of the financial control of externally funded projects. You have a challenging project portfolio consisting of research and education projects funded by institutional funders such as the European Commission and NWO. As a project controller you manage a 3 million budget divided over 50 projects. You work largely independently, and you can always consult the Business Controller. You are a proactive communicator in your role as linking pin between the financial department, the project manager, academic project leaders and external advisors/auditors.
Your main tasks are
You report functionally to the Business Controller and are part of the Finance team. You will maintain good relations with your colleagues from the other faculties within Erasmus University Rotterdam and with the staff of the central financial service team.
An internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with good working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).
The position is for 0.8-1.0 FTE. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of €2.846 to a maximum of €5.230 gross per month on a fulltime basis, in accordance with scale 10/11 of the CAO-NU. In addition, we offer an 8% holiday allowance, an end-of-year payment of 8.3%, and a very generous paid leave scheme. Furthermore, EUR is affiliated with ABP for the pension provision, and we offer partially paid parental leave, fully paid extended birth leave for partners, a personal career budget, work-life balance coaches, discounted collective health insurance, and more. The Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC) is part of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The school has three departments: History, Arts and Culture and Media & Communication. There are approximately 2500 students and over 220 employees.
