Our research aims to be cutting-edge in the innovation of research methods and topics, bridging the gap between science and practitioners and supporting the development of skills and knowledge of staff and students. Our research is split into three key dimensions for the travel and tourism industry in the coming decade: ‘green’, ‘digital’ and ‘social’.

As a professor in Sustainable Development of Tourism, you will research and develop meaningful changes that can reduce tourism’s environmental footprint, by creating an impact on relevant tourism and environmental policy domains.

As a professor in Digital Transformation of Tourism, you will be working on the deeper understanding and practical impact of concepts such as digital realities, social media, (big) data, and IoT for tourism, with the aim of designing practicable value propositions for tourism organizations and meaningful experiences for tourists.

Candidates for both positions are expected to actively contribute to the BUas Research & Graduate School and the BUas-wide research pillars.

We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community, teaching, and research.

You have a portfolio of research projects, a track record of publications, including in internationally rated journals and books with publishing houses of international standing, experience in successfully acquiring funding, and a track record in academic teaching.

Fixed-term contract: 4 years.

We offer a position for four years, and is classified between scale 14 or 15 of the CAO HBO. The salary amounts to a monthly minimum of € 5.670,10 and a monthly maximum of € 7,940.29  (gross amounts based on full-time employment).
