Job description

Unravelling the complexities of Europe in an ever-changing world requires an understanding of the past and the present. Would you like to research how texts, ideas, and cultural objects migrate across time and place and inquire into their roles in new contexts? Then you have a part to play as a PhD Candidate at the Radboud Institute for Culture & History.

As a PhD candidate you will write a PhD thesis, participate in the Graduate School for the Humanities, which includes taking courses for approximately six months, and provide six months of academic service to the Faculty of Arts at Radboud University. Your thesis topic and research question should align with the research of RICH, where this position is embedded. Descriptions of our research groups can be found here. We are looking for four PhD candidates.

Work and science require good employment practices. This is reflected in Radboud University's primary and secondary employment conditions. You can make arrangements for the best possible work-life balance with flexible working hours, various leave arrangements and working from home. You are also able to compose part of your employment conditions yourself, for example, exchange income for extra leave days and receive a reimbursement for your sports subscription.
