Job description

We are seeking candidates for a PhD project: The Sustainable Corporation: Efficiency, Ecology and Equity

This is a joint project between the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Economics and Business. The position is located at the Faculty of Philosophy.

Theme
Corporations are vital to contemporary economies and bring welfare to a significant part of the world population. However, they do not always operate in an equitable manner. And many of them pose a serious threat to the environment. The aim of this project is to develop a theory of the sustainable corporation. Such a corporation is efficient, equitable and environmentally friendly. This is due not only to the way it is organized but also due to the financial network and legal context in which it is embedded.
See for an extended description of the project: https://www.scoop-program.org/program-projects/794-the-sustainable-corporation-efficiency-ecology-and-equity

The project is part of the transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary research programme SCOOP: Roadmaps to Resilient Societies (see: http://www.scoop-program.org ). SCOOP is a research and training centre dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of sustainable cooperation as a key feature of resilient societies. SCOOP brings together researchers of the University of Groningen, Utrecht University, VU Amsterdam, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Radboud University Nijmegen. The PhD student will participate in the SCOOP PhD training program, see: https://www.scoop-program.org/training-program-towards-transdisciplinarity

The project is co-supervised by Prof. Boudewijn de Bruin.
