As a researcher, will you help shape the transition to autonomous transport in Zeeland or make the switch to clean energy carriers easier?

Job description

Would you like to think about, for example, the use of an autonomous vehicle at the terminal of Kloosterboer or participate in the current project to have an autonomous boat sail between the station and the centre of Vlissingen? Then apply to the vacancy of researcher in the Supply Chain Innovation research group at HZ University of Applied Sciences in Vlissingen. Here you will be doing practice-based research that has real impact.

Your work as a researcher
You will be part of a research group in which everyone has their own specialisations. You will contribute to research in areas such as autonomous transport, zero emissions, digitisation and/or robotisation. As a researcher, would you, for example, like to help logistics service providers in the region with the inevitable switch to clean energy carriers? It is a transition that is difficult and complex. As a researcher of Supply Chain Innovation, you will make investment decisions easier for entrepreneurs, you will think along about the necessary loading and refuelling infrastructure and you will come up with logistic innovations.

You enjoy working with a diverse network of companies, platform and sector organisations, knowledge institutions and regional governments. You see the innovation needs of your stakeholders and answer their research questions. In this region, the lines are short. This makes it easy to establish and maintain contacts. You like to be in this playing field with different interests, because that is what makes this work so interesting.

You immediately pass on the knowledge you acquire to students in educational projects and lessons. This is inspiring and challenging. You will also succeed in putting your research results into words, so that you can publish them in scientific and professional journals.

Supply Chain Innovation mainly focuses on the application and integration of new technology, new business models, digitisation and robotisation in logistics. In addition, adapting the supply chain to social challenges is an important focus.

The research agenda is constantly evolving. To this end, the group works together with Zeeland Connect and Greening Corridors, a national cooperation of knowledge institutions, governments and businesses.

The team
You will work in a diverse and compact team led by a lecturer. The team has been in existence for several years but is still developing.
