We are searching for an international minded, pro-active person with excellent administrative and communication skills. Someone who thrives on peaks and loves a challenge. Working in International Admissions means that you ensure that students with a non-Dutch diploma can be admitted to a bachelor or master program in a timely and correct way.

Job description

Within the International Office, you will work in the International Admissions team. A team that was established in 2019 and comprises of 12 people. As a team we are responsible for processing and evaluating more than 10.000 applications of students with a non-Dutch diploma per year. A task that requires of us to combine hard work, speed and accuracy all at the same time. Your main duties will be to assist the International Admissions Coordinators and Credential Evaluators by 

  • Confirming the completeness of applications and verifying test results online
  • Sending, receiving, and processing (hard) documents for diploma validation
  • Answering questions via e-mail and phone from applying students
  • Archiving; and
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks that come along

With our main peak being from March until October it is important for the team that you are flexible during this period and that you are available in the months July and August. During the peak periods you will receive extra help from two student assistants who you, together with your fellow International Admissions Officer, will train and divide the work with. Almost every day we start with a day start to inform each other of issues and manage the workload at hand. 

In a team member we search for someone who is actively contributes to the development and description of our admissions procedures and work instructions, and who is committed to and socially active within our team. It is a team effort that ensures we meet our yearly goals!

Your qualifications 
Our ideal candidate would bring with him/her the following qualities:

  • Intellectual and professional level at least equivalent to having completed Dutch Higher Professional Education (HBO)
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Familiarity and confidence with different computer systems
  • Tilburg University is an international university, firmly rooted in the region and therefore bilingual. We expect our employees to meet the language level appropriate for the position. For administrative staff working at the International Office, a good command of both English (CEFR level C1) and Dutch (NT2 or equivalent) is required.
  • Ability to work within a multi-cultural environment

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 jaar met uitzicht op onbepaalde tijd.

Our offer 
This is a position for 0.7 FTE (28 hours per week) of the full-time working week. 

The salary amounts to a minimum of € 2.376 and a maximum of € 3.208 gross per month for full time employment contract, based on UFO profile Medewerker Studentenzaken 3 and salary scale 7 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. Tilburg University uses a neutral salary system for scaling that is based on relevant education and work experience. 

This is a vacancy for a structural position in accordance with Article 2.3, paragraph 1 of the CLA for Dutch Universities. You will be given a temporary employment contract for the duration of 12 months. After this period, if your suitability has been proven and you continue in the same position, you will receive an employment contract for an indefinite period. 

You are entitled to a vacation allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% of your gross annual income. If you work 40 hours per week, you will receive 41 paid days of leave per year.
