As the M&C Officer for the University Council, you must be motivated and eager to work with participatory bodies, being the main link between the university council and the Erasmus Community. You will have three main responsibilities: Be the lead of the marketing and communications Task Force (TF), manage the UC website and social media, and facilitate trainings and activities for the council members, and from the council towards the community.

Job description

As the M&C TF lead, you will be in charge of scheduling and leading the meetings of the taskforce, creating an agenda, and delegating tasks. This will also include following up with different stakeholders of EUR and helping the UC members host different events. Moreover, the M&C lead oversees the promotion of all events and updates from the UC. For this position, the candidate must have good organizational skills and proactivity and engage the council with innovative ideas.

Designing skills and affinity with social media is a prerequisite in this position, as the managing of the Erasmus University Council website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram are the responsibility of the M&C Officer. Being comfortable making videos and designing promotional material (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is definitely an advantage.

Finally, the M&C Officer is also in charge of organizing the different training opportunities of the council, including their onboarding, and other team-building and organizational activities (Event planning). Additionally, any background knowledge on the governance structure of the university is a plus.

Requirements

  • Excellent communicative skills (writing, speaking) in English. Dutch would be a plus, but it is not a requirement
  • Flexible hours of working and time management skills (besides your regular load of studies, you must be available to the Council for 14-16 hours a week)
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Designing and affinity with social media and communication
  • Proactive and presentation skills
  • Being a student at EUR (BA2, BA3, or Master student)
  • Organizational experience (for instance, participation in boards or committees)
  • Knowledge of the governance structure of the EUR

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 01.09.2022 - 31.08.2023.

The conditions of employment comply with the ‘CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten/Collective Agreement Netherlands Universities (CAO NU)’. Salary will be within the range of SA salary scales (€ 2.402 to € 2.611 gross per month fulltime), with a holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end payment of 8.3%.
