Job description

Are you our new colleague who is passionate about organising activities? Do you want to contribute to the future of international students? Are you keen to help give prospective students the information they need? Then we are looking for you! 
As Marketing and Recruitment Employee you will be responsible for organising small-scale events for prospective international students, both on and off campus. You will organise physical events such as school visits to German schools or international schools in the Netherlands and campus visits from foreign schools, as well as online events such as webinars and virtual presentations. You will take care of the invitations to these events and the follow-up afterwards, and you will arrange the necessary materials. A few times a year, you will visit recruitment fairs in Germany and will be expected to give presentations during open days.

In consultation with our online marketer you will be responsible for the promotion of the webinars, sending newsletters, assisting with implementing and optimising Google Ad campaigns, and updating the English and German websites. You will work with student assistants who will provide the necessary support.

Requirements

  • You have completed a higher professional education (HBO) programme. A degree in event management, marketing or communications is preferred.
  • You have three years of work experience in marketing or communications.
  • You have organisational talent and a hands-on mentality, and are not afraid to approach difficult situations and get to the bottom of things.
  • You speak and write English fluently. A good command of the German language is preferred and, if non-native, a working knowledge of the Dutch language would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of social media advertising and Google Ads is preferred.
  • You are able to work in a structured manner and enjoy multitasking.
  • You have experience with organising small-scale events for, and delivering presentations to, large groups.
  • You have a professional demeanour, strong communication skills, and are customer-friendly, accurate and practical.
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of Excel and preferably have worked with CRM systems before.
  • You are flexible and are willing to work in the evenings and on weekends.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: It concerns a temporary employment of one year. After a year, this may be extended to a permanent employment.

  • It concerns an employment for 0.8 FTE.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts to a minimum of €3,098 and a maximum of €4,257 based on a 38-hour working week, depending on previous education and number of years of relevant work experience (salary scale 9).
  • You will receive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
  • It concerns a temporary employment of one year. After a year, this may be extended to a permanent employment.
  • You will be able to use our Dual Career and Family Care Services. Our Dual Career and Family Care Officer can assist you with family-related support, help your partner or spouse prepare for the local labour market, provide customized support in their search for employment and help your family settle in Nijmegen.
  • Working for us means getting extra days off. In case of full-time employment, you can choose between 29 or 41 days of annual leave instead of the legally allotted 20.

The International Marketing and Recruitment team is part of the Student Marketing and Recruitment subdepartment of the Marketing and Communications Department. With approximately 14 staff members, the goal of Student Marketing and Recruitment is to inform Dutch and international prospective students about the study programmes and facilities at Radboud University. 
More specifically, International Marketing and Recruitment aims to advise and inform prospective international students about studying in the Netherlands. Our team consists of five staff members and over 20 student workers.

The International Marketing team falls under the Student Marketing and Recruitment subdepartment, responsible for information and marketing activities geared towards Dutch and international Bachelor's and Master's students. Other subdepartments of the Marketing and Communications Department are Online Strategy and Infrastructure, and Corporate Communications and Alumni Relations.
