Join us to lead the development of training in data stewardship and Open Science across Europe!

Job description

4TU.ResearchData, a repository for research data and software in the technical and exact sciences, is one of the key partners of the European project Skills4EOSC. The project aims to build skills needed for the successful implementation of the European Open Science Cloud (the EOSC).

As the Skills4EOSC Training Coordinator, you will be leading the contribution of 4TU.ResearchData to the different work packages related to training within the project. It will be your role to develop a curriculum for aspiring data stewards and to pilot the implementation of this training.  To do this, you will build on existing experience and expertise within Research Data Netherlands (in particular the Essential 4 Data Support course), the relevant projects of the Dutch National Programme Open Science (NPOS), Research Data Alliance and the relevant EOSC task forces. You will collaborate with these organisations to ensure that the curriculum is harmonised within Europe (and beyond). In addition, you will also help map the skills and agree on a profile of data stewards across European countries, help create and pilot training and learning paths for Open Science within research institutions.

Therefore, this job will provide you with a unique opportunity to network and liaise with diverse groups of stakeholders across Europe and beyond, and build connections through collaborations with the 44 partners of the consortium.

You will also have the opportunity to collaborate and get support from your trainer colleagues from 4TU.ResearchData and the Research Data Services team of TU Delft Library.

Your main task will be leading the contributions of  4TU.ResearchData on data stewardship and open science training to the Skills4EOSC project. Your main activities will be:

  • Drive the development and harmonisation of a curriculum for data stewards, building on existing work and developments
  • Regularly liaise with organisations involved in professionalising data stewardship to ensure collaboration and harmonisation of efforts, e.g. Research Data Alliance and the Dutch National Programme Open Science.
  • Liaise, motivate and support other colleagues within the task groups of the project so that they can effectively contribute to the work programme
  • Lead the contributions to the creation of Open science training in the work packages where 4TU.ResearchData is involved
  • Lead training delivery (in particular, pilot training), as appropriate and necessary for the project
  • Organise regular meetings with colleagues involved in the task led by 4TU.ResearchData related to skills and training
  • Participate and contribute in meetings of the project work packages related to training and open science skills where 4TU.ResearchData is involved
  • Regularly update the work package leaders and the project coordinator on the work progress
