The Biomaterials and Tissue Biomechanics section has a strong research focus on biofabrication and the temporal bidirectional interactions between cells and multi-cues engineered microenvironments.
With this tenure track position, the section will expand its multidisciplinary expertise in these areas by including for the first time a cell biologist who will foster the current biological research and advance the fundamental understanding of complex engineered living constructs. In the long term, this position will contribute to the ambitions of the section and BMechE department as a center of excellence at the intersection of biofabrication, biomaterials and biology. Research:
Your research will involve cells and tissues growing on advanced biomaterials (2D and 3D multifunctional structures) that are designed and fabricated e.g., by (bio)printing. Applications include tissue repair, tissue regeneration, disease models for both soft and hard tissues.

A tenure-track position is offered for six years. In the fifth year we’ll decide if you will be offered a permanent faculty position, based on performance indicators agreed upon at the start of the appointment.
