Job description

Genome instability is a hallmark of cancer and ageing. Intriguingly, the nuclear pore complexes (NPCs; the gateways between the nucleus and the cytoplasm) have been implicated in DNA replication and repair, as well as telomere maintenance. We aim to examine this topic on a molecular level using the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model organism.

You are expected to conduct a research project involving a combination of yeast genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and live-cell imaging embedded within the research groups of Prof. Liesbeth Veenhoff (Laboratory of Cellular Biochemistry) and Dr. Michael Chang (Laboratory of Telomeres and Genome Integrity).
