Job description

Tasks
Your research should be relevant to the domain of health-, medical- or neuropsychology, including experimental and/or applied research in the area of mechanisms, diagnostics, treatment, and prevention of mental illnesses. You will contribute to the health-, medical- and neuropsychology teaching program (at the Bachelor and Master level) offered by the unit, and will supervise students at different stages of their education. You will be expected to apply for research grants from Dutch and European funding agencies. In addition to contributing to ongoing teaching and research, you will play a role in the innovation of the curriculum offered by the department.

Requirements

You have an excellent research and teaching background, as well as a PhD on a topic relevant to the profile of this vacancy. You conduct your research according to Open Science principles and you have experience with state of the art methodological and statistical approach and software (for example R). You are a team player, but you are also able to supervise and conduct independent empirical research. You are motivated and willing to write external grant proposals and you have broad experience and affinity with teaching at the academic level. Both Dutch and English language proficiency (or the intention to reach it) is required. The candidate will be required to enter a nationally standardized tertiary teaching skills certification trajectory (BKO or Basiskwalificatie Onderwijs).

Terms and conditions

A position for 0.8-1.0 fte at the Health, Medical and Neuropsychology unit at the Institute of Psychologyat Leiden University. The salary level depends on previous research and teaching experience and ranges between €3.974,- to €6.181,- gross per month on a full-time basis (pay scale 11 or 12 for assistant professor), in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. This position is part of the sectorplan theme Mental Illness (psychische aandoeningen).
